ES81 has recently been appointed to design a “mini contemporary African village” outside the town of Onitsha, in southern Nigeria, on family land. The existing plot will be converted into a mini village comprising one main house and 3-4 small guest houses. It is intended that the project will be designed and detailed to UK standards in collaboration with UK based consultants. There will be a small single multi‐functional personal care / business area and there is a further requirement for outdoor showers adjacent to the guest accommodation and an outdoor kitchen and dining area adjacent. The Clients brief calls for a modern sustainable design that references traditional Nigerian architecture, design and decoration.
