Project No. 131

Back

Bungalow Extension, Kent, UK

Project Number: 131
Date: 2008-2009

Description: The Clients brief requested a modern extension to their existing bungalow to provide an additional 2 bedrooms, 1 with with en-suite and a study space. The proposal was to provide these in a new ‘wing’, connected to the existing property by an intermediate, lighter connection. Additionally, the client also required a reconfiguration of the interior spaces of the existing house, including the kitchen and dining spaces. Where possible, existing windows and doors were re-used in the proposal, with materials and finishes chosen to match the existing property. The extension was designed as a simple white box with pitched roof and clerestory glazing to maximise light. Patio doors provide access to a new terrace in the garden.

Stages: Feasibility, Planning, Building Control.
Size: 80sqm.
Status: Built.
